Contraindications
The following is a list of contraindications for any facial treatments. Please read through our list provided.
Cold sores, Styes, Conjunctivitis
Botox & Fillers (will need to wait 3 weeks before starting any facial treatments).
Cannot perform any services on clients with sunburned skin or skin that has been waxed within the past 48 hours.
Undergoing any Cancer Treatments (this will require you to receive doctors note clearly stating they are comfortable with you receiving facial services at the current stage). If not, we highly recommend waiting 3-6 months after treatments are fully completed.
Lymphatic cancers (will cause contraindications for facial massage).
Received any recent major surgeries. Regardless of the surgery area, facials can speed up your circulatory system which can lead to infections traveling through the body at a quicker rate. We highly recommend waiting 6 months after any major surgeries to continue facial treatments.
Clients taking Accutane or have taken Accutane within the past 6 months should not receive any form of exfoliating treatments.
Clients using Retin-A, Renova, Adapalene or any other prescribed exfoliating products MUST discontinue the use at least two weeks prior to facial treatments.
Please note that you are required to reschedule or cancel appointments 48 hours before your schedule appointment to avoid any cancellation fees.
How to Prepare for Your Facial
1. Discontinue the use of any Retin-A, Adapalene, Tretinoin, Renova, Hydroquinone, AHA (alpha hydroxy acids), BHA (beta hydroxy acids) 1 week prior to your treatment.
2. Avoid direct sun such as sunbathing and tanning beds five days before your treatment. Sun damage and skincare do not mix well and should be avoided at all costs.
3. Avoid exfoliation 72 hours before your treatment and any strong at home facial treatments a week before service.
4. Make sure you are aware of the names of the current skincare products you are using at home. This will help me make the best recommendations for products and services.
5. Are you currently preparing for a big event? If you’ve never had a facial treatment before and aren’t sure how your skin will respond, it is highly recommended to book your treatment six weeks in advance with a follow up appointment closer to your event date. This will insure you get the best results from your service for your special event.
6. Get ready to start your skin-transformation! Keep goals and concerns in mind so we can discuss everything during your treatment. Your aesthetician is a licensed expert in all things skin and skincare so we will be able to help you find specific products and treatments to achieve your goals.
